Industrial chain analysis of Diisobutylene


The isobutylene industry chain is introduced in terms of isobutylene mixture and high purity isobutylene.

1. Isobutylene mixture

(1) production of methyl tert-butyl ether (MTBE) and ethyl tert-butyl ether (ETBE).

Methyl tert-butyl ether (mtbe) has a serious surplus in the industry due to the overheated investment, the rise of alkylated oil and some defects in oil regulation in recent years. Although ethyl tert-butyl ether does not have the disadvantages mentioned above, the production cost of ethyl tert-butyl ether is higher because the price of ethanol is much higher than that of methanol.

The indirect alkylation for the production of alkylation oil or the superposition for the production of dipolyisobutylene

Due to the competition with etherification device for raw materials, the raw material cost cannot compete with MTBE in the near future, and the hydrogenation of iso-butene after dipolymerization will lead to great production cost. Without hydrogenation (superposition process), dimerization products are directly used to blend gasoline, which will lead to excessive olefin content in the product oil. Therefore, the project has no investment value in China.

The catalytic water can be used to produce tertiary butanol legally

Tertiary butanol is mainly used as gasoline additive to improve octane number of gasoline. Although the application of tert-butanol in this respect does not have the problem of groundwater pollution like MTBE, it has the characteristics of water absorption, poor solubility with oil products, and easy stratification of oil products with long storage time. Tert-butanol is generally used in the blending process of methanol gasoline as the co-solvent of methanol to increase the octane number of gasoline, and can also be used as fuel additive for internal combustion engine (to prevent carburetor from freezing), but the amount is limited.

Tert-butanol is widely used as a solvent for wax, paint and medical treatment. It is also used as solvent and thinner for nitrocellulose and synthetic resin, plasticizer for polyvinyl chloride and its copolymer.

Other fine chemical applications, such as the production of tert-butyl phenol (plastic antioxidant and stabilizer), tert-butyl acetate, herbicide 2, 4-dichlorophenoxyacetic acid tert-butyl ester and 2,4, 5-trichlorophenyl oxyacetic acid tert-butyl ester, are very small.

At present, the domestic investment in tert-butanol project is seriously excessive.

(4) of methyl methacrylate (MMA) to poly (methyl methacrylate) PMMA

At present, acetone cyanol method is mainly used in domestic production, but due to insufficient supply of raw materials of acetone cyanol, backward technology and high production cost, the development of MMA in China is seriously restricted.

The direct oxidation of isobutylene (C4) is characterized by a wide range of raw materials, high catalyst activity, high product yield, no pollution, low cost and other advantages, but the technology is monopolized by Japanese companies. Although many universities and research institutes in China have made some achievements in this field, the technology is still immature.

Methyl methacrylate is mainly used in the production of plexiglass, but also used in the production of other resins, plastics, coatings, adhesives, lubricants, wood and cork wetting agents, printing and dyeing AIDS, paper glazing agents.

5) it shall produce isooctene (DIB)

Isooctene is an oligomer of isobutene. Most of it comes from the by-product of the preparation process of isobutene in the industry. 2. High purity isobutylene

Production of butyl rubber (IIR)

Butyl rubber is a product of polymerization of high purity isobutylene and a small amount of isoprene. Used for the production of tire inner tube, medicine bottle stopper, vulcanized capsule, tape, hose, adhesive, wire and cable and waterproof rolling materials.

The low-molecular weight polyisobutylene (PIB)

Is a colorless, tasteless, non-toxic viscous or semi-solid substances, mainly used as lubricants, lubricant additives, adhesives, electrical insulation materials, sealing materials, coatings and so on. Among them, the amount of polyisobutylene with an average molecular weight of about 1000 is the largest, accounting for about 80% ~ 85% of the total consumption of low-molecular weight polyisobutylene. The products are mainly used in the production of lubricating oil additives and modulation of two-stroke internal combustion engine oil.

(4) of methyl allyl chloride

Methyl allyl chloride is an important organic chemical intermediate prepared from isobutylene by chlorination and has a wide range of applications.

At present, the domestic production of this product is very small, mainly relying on imports to solve, and the prospect of development and utilization is very optimistic.

At present, only Exon company and Shell company of the Netherlands have production capacity in the world. It is reported that a research institute is conducting pilot test in China, but no other reports have been made.

6 the production of isoprene

Isoprene is A monomer for the production of isoprene rubber and butyl rubber. In addition, isoprene chloride, methyl heptenone, linalool, citric aldehyde, laurene, lavender alcohol, vitamin A, E, K, pyrethroid and other fine chemicals with high added value and good economic benefits can also be synthesized.

At present, isoprene is mainly separated from pyrolyzed carbon 5 in China, but due to the limited carbon 5 resources, it cannot meet the domestic demand. Many enterprises have turned to chemical synthesis to produce isoprene process.

The process of producing isoprene by reaction of isobutylene and formaldehyde is mainly controlled by the Russian European chemical company, the United States union carbon company and the German BASF company. No domestic enterprise has been able to produce isoprene.

Lilitide is used for the production of tert-butylphenols

In the presence of cationic exchange resin, isobutylene is combined with phenol to form p-tert-butyl phenol, which is used to produce modified acid-aldehyde resin, rubber vulcanizing agent and coating.

Using V2O5 as catalyst, isobutylene was synthesized with phenol to form 2, 4-ditert-butyl phenol. It can be esterified with PCL3 to prepare antioxidant 268 and ultraviolet absorber uv-327.

2, 6-ditert-butyl phenol was prepared by reaction of isobutylene with phenol using phenol aluminum as catalyst. It is mainly used for phenolic resin, gasoline additives and the production of 1010, 1076, 300 antioxidants.

In the presence of sulfuric acid or methylbenzenesulfonic acid, isobutylene and p-cresol were used to prepare 2, 6-ditert-butyl4-methylphenol (BHT), a nonpolluting hindered phenolic antioxidant. Widely used in rubber, synthetic resin, plastic, petroleum products, food and plastic fields, is the largest amount of antioxidants.

Iso-butene reacts with m-cresol and SCL2 to produce 3-methyl-6-tert-butyl phenol (antioxidant 300), which is mainly used in the synthesis of antioxidants for plastics and anti-aging agents for rubber products.
